The Line In The Sand

I'm not certain Obama is serious with his gun control initiative. It could be mere posturing, the eternal electioneering to appease his rabid base. On the other hand, he seems to believe he is a darchangel of sorts. He believes the stroke of his pen is of a covenant with his god. Whoever that Beelzebub is.

300 million guns. 100 million owners. Roughly. A third of the nation owns guns. And the Constitution did not admit a natural right to them for the purposes of shooting bunnies and squirrels. It is for the more stringent task of shooting tyrants, wherever they raise their heads. That's the whole point.

Does this guy think he can make 33 percent of the country criminals with a stroke of the pen? Well, he has extraconstitutional czars, signing statements, executive orders, and appointments without Senate advice and consent with no blowback. Why not? FDR drank four martinis and decided to see if he could pack the Supreme Court. Why wouldn't this guy mainline a bit of narcissism and see where it takes him? Even a failure brings no rebuke. Just a minor setback. He'll try again.

Dangerous times. This bastard reeks of Huey Long, and Hugo Chavez. I smell the sulphur.

Fortunately I am living in straitened times, and was forced to sell my weapons. In the parking lot at a gun show. To strangers. I now abide with a Louisville Slugger and a Lester Maddox pick axe handle he gave me in 1976. To the other hundred millions of you out there who do not wish to become a criminal upon the autopen stroke of a choom head I recommend an underground hidey hole. Throw some silver coins in there. Canned beans. A stripper if you must.

Because a hard rain's a-gonna fall.

V-man, no disrespect intended, but WTF?
If they are intent on coming to get them, is it not time to use them for the purpose for which the 2nd exists?
Hell, I lost mine in a tragic boating accident on the Outer Banks, but others have them.
Still got my Ka-bar & a 3 wood though...

On any given day the world is only one to three bullets away from being improved.

Posted by: vanderleun at January 9, 2013 1:33 AM

Gerard, that estimate has gone up. Used to just be one bullet. Inflation?

Sorry to hear about the sale of your guns, Vman. Seems lots of folks I know have lost their guns to all sorts of misfortune. All I know is I'm staying outta the marshes on Edisto.

Posted by: Joan of Argghh! at January 9, 2013 6:31 AM

Things are not looking good, are they?

I posted this on Bill Whittle's fanpage and thought it would be good to post here, too V-man.

" I`m seriously starting to believe I`ll see a civil war."

David... this kind of 'Civil War' has been played before and we are being set up for a repeat.

Behold Russian Revolution history:

The Liberals are setting and baiting the trap - and they know how to win against us gun-toting conservatives as they have already won previously.

This time, we need to take the high ground called 'air cover'. No, I'm not talking Jets, planes and bombers.

I'm talking the Might of Air Power Known as the Mainstream Media.

1. They sandbagged the Korean war until it was a stalemate.
2. They beat our military in the Vietnam War.
3.They continually provide air cover for the Paleosimians so that the Israelis can only manage brief sorties against those savages.
4. Any War with a Conservative as President is vilified, any War with a Liberal in power is either ignored or glossed over.
5. Solid Accredited Conservative Politicans are either Borked out of nominations or they get a Palin Facial so severe they are vilified where ever they go.

Yes. The Mainstream Media must be destroyed. Destroy their 'Air Cover'.

Did you know that Leon Trotsky was a Journalist?

Guns, sadly, are not enough. The virtual 'Air-Cover' of the Media is very powerful. Without a plan to neutralize (or even contest) that threat, its pointless to even try as you will NEVER get any support from the media we have today (a few placed nameless conservative 'Cronkites' _may_ help some - but it is overwhelmingly Liberal).

Further, they will have fresh recruits of Brain-dead Libtards coming off the education systems assembly lines every year.

Hopeless? I dunno, but i have extreme doubts of any kind of 'winning' when they control the 24/7 media pulpit and the Libtard Assembly Line known and our Public Education System.

All I know is that we've been had by a surreptitious and evil ideology and that our freedoms appear to be in great peril. Time to Cowboy-Up and face the music or enjoy our new 'Constitution', 'Caesar', and Empire.

Yep, I'm' with you V-man. I sold off all of my scary black rifles back when the One was elected in '08. I wish I still had them. They would be worth almost twice what they were when the panic hit back then. Now I only have a couple of large caliber wheel guns. If "He" comes for them I will surrender them, when they are EMPTY!

No. Now is the time they come out of the hidey hole, lest they remain doomed there for generations.

Strippers: Athens strippers or Atlanta strippers?

Posted by: Cletus Socrates at January 13, 2013 12:36 PM

Right on Vman....but instead of a hidey hole what is needed now is a million gun march....one million springfields, mausers, enfields and moisins...even throw in a carcano or three..bolt actions all right up to the Mall in Washington DC. Not an automatic weapon in sight. Then we do not leave until Joe Biden is forced to resign. Tit for tat...keep it simple. One swine at a time. Plus DC strippers know how to work a pole....

Posted by: IrishEd at January 13, 2013 8:52 PM

Not to put too fine a point on it, but the time when you feel the need to hide your guns is the time when you need to start using them.

The second amendment was intended for DIY protecting our freedom. Period.

Posted by: bestdissertations at January 21, 2013 6:43 AM

V-man, sage advice. The beans and rice went in pretty easy. I has about as much trouble letting the silver coins drop in as ol' Bilbo did leaving the ring.

The stripper wasn't quite limber enough to fit herself in the hole so had to let her go with a telephone # I could reach most any time. Are the Athens strippers more agile that what's available here 'bouts?

While V-Man takes a lil break, does anyone know what ever happened to "Big Dick's Place" as per the sidebar? I used to enjoy that guy's stuff, from spleen-venting and squirrel-eating dogs to masonry projects.
He parked it a while back, I hope he's still blogging somewhere.
Maybe from Delaware? I remember he was working on moving that way from Texas. I recall that he wrote a book or two, can't remember his name to try and find a copy. If he's laying low, I can't blame him; hope all is well.

Posted by: Sken at January 23, 2013 6:19 PM

Big Dick is tweeting now. @DicksTrash (Or if it ain't him, he's a close second.)

Posted by: Joan of Argghh! at January 24, 2013 5:33 PM

Thanks, Joan. Unfortunately, I am not wise in the ways of the tweet. You darn kids with your rock music and your faded jeans.

Sorry for the hijack, Velociman et cie. I forge ahead, Dick-less.
