When I was growing up it was "privates". You "tinkled or pooped from your privates."

Thank God, my dad was Navy, or else it would have been very confusing to look at Army Privates (as in PFCs)and not think of, well, you know, "privates."

It seems I have always referred to my private part as my pecker for as along as I can remember. I had a friend once who banged his on a corner of a counter and said, "Damn, that hurts! I think I broke my kajutis." My late wife referred to both my penis and her vagina as wing-wangs, as in your wing-wang or my wing-wang.

I tend to call people's private parts "penis" and "vagina", although I avoid the second word because it has such an ugly sound to it.

I was the proud owner of a "wee-wee."

My little sister had a "butt"...she inexplicably called everything down there a "butt." It was very confusing.

In my family we had dinks. I don't remember there being a term for girls.

Some of my cousins had ding dongs. I believe that was the same for both sexes.

I'm sure he'd be appalled at me telling this, but my son decided out of the blue a few years ago to call his penis 'barrel of monkeys' and his testicles the 'barrel-holder'. I have no idea where that came from, and do you know how hard it is to keep a straight face whenever he mentions it?

This is a hoot. Obviously anybody that grew up in our house did not have bodily parts or "issues". I could have an issue at Grandma's though..there it was a chi-chi and my brother had a ding dong.

I remember boy's parts being called pee-tails when I was a kid. I don't think girls were supposed to have parts until they got married or something, because I can't remember any words for it...

Okay, since we're getting detailed here...

Spiderman (my son, age 3) calls his parts his "peen" and refers to what girls have as their "gines" (with a hard G and a long I, rhymes with "dines"). Anyone's ass is a hind.

But in general, it's all parts to us.

Geez I don't remember what I called them as a child, but my two sons use "peepee" or "privates".

My teenage foster son however is a different story. He came home from school muttering one day under his breath and walking a bit 'tenderly. I asked him what was wrong. Some girl had apparently 'kicked him in the jimmies!'.

I laughed for an hour.
