O Death

I see our Great Condescendicator rustled up 150 doctors in another gambit to pass his health care abortion via yet another photo op. The doctors were told to wear white lab coats, lest we window lickers fail to notice they were, indeed, doctors of medicine: buy-in from the experts, so to speak. Those that forgot or neglected to wear one were summarily issued one in a rare example of logistical success for the Administration.

I haven't seen that many fools dressed in white since O Brother Where Art Thou? And they must be fools for they are certainly acting against their best interests, as Bill Whittle would say. Unless, of course, they consider this thing a done deal, and they're jockeying for position on one of those righteous death panels. We've seen death panels before in this country, and it was a very fucking bad idea that time, too:

Wouldn’t these make great Halloween costumes..or for the next tea party. The lab coats, I mean.
"Hey kid, what'r you s'posed to be?"
"I'm Doctor Death Panel. Now bend over and take it like a taxpayer."

You mean the boys in your area don't still dress-up in white and walk around? I would have figured differently. They did where I grew-up. Seems as they were upset because my high school decided to stop being the loan hold-out in the state about not observing MLK Jr. Day. Different story for a different day though.

Seems to me though, that he was probably only able to find 150 doctors that were willing to say they supported it. I would be willing to bet that most of them either did research or are within a year or two of retirement.

I eagerly await the day when the Lunatic in Chief is surrounded once again by a legion of white coated "Doctors" only this time one will be whispering in Oba's ear quietly, "Now Mr. President you need to come along quietly. We are all here to help. It really is a nice institution Sir".

Sooner than later would be best.

One consolation here is that those 17 doctors represent a significant percentage of the total AMA membership.

The last I checked, membership in the AMA constitutes an impressive 17% of the nation's licensed physicians. Wonder why?

Researchers, no doubt, working by the grace of a government grant. Never had the chops for internship, OR, ER, or family practice. Just bookworm docs.

Another exquisite bit of irony is that the singer is the incomparable Ralph Stanley, the living refutation of the claim that white men have no soul.

Unfortunately,

That's okay. At 82, Ralph will get the health treatment he deserves.
