I Stand Corrected

Or, rather, upon further reflection, I believe this is the greatest rock and roll song of all time:

This, of course, pushes the very definition of rock and roll beyond what most people would consider such. It's hootenany, or something.

And that guy buck dancing? That's me on the dance floor. Totally.

Amazing. That kind of picking is such a treat.

Dang it! Now I gotta dust off the old Ovation and find a pick-up band. I'm all about a one night stand of music! Makes me kinda sad that I never made it to one of the Jawja blogmeets with Rob Smith.

Can you imagine what Rob would've said about that movie??

:o)

The guy pumping gas and later doing the jig is the spitting image of my ex brother in law. The only differemce is the fellow in the movie seems much smarter.

The brethren of Fucktard Dancers is a close knit group, exclusive and special.

Special in a short-bus styrofoam helmet kind of way, but special nonetheless.

Happy Father's Day V-man.

LOL - well, I don't know what type of music it would be called - but it's always fun to listen to it.

Happy Father's Day to you.

I think I would have to agree with you there...one of the greatest songs of all time. Too bad it's not rock & roll. Does that boy with the unusually blank face have some kind of mental problems? I never saw the movie, so I don't know the back-story.

Happy Father's Day, V-Daddy.

all of y'all who would call yourselves vman's friends are a sham! wake up, juvies, for crying out loud.

another post ala anal sex? vman, get over it.

i'm done with you, sicko. consider this my segment of the intervention whenever the rest of your so-called blodge friends figure it out. i can't take it anymore.

yikes, dude.

and happy father's day, when you aren't terrifying the masses with your anal probage weirdness, you're really a cool daddio. have a good one!

That water head with the Banjo rocks man. He ain't playin' R&R, but, just for shit's and grins I'd like to see a cage match between him, Eddie Van Halen, and Joe Satriani... Or a player to be named later by T1G. Mabye Ritche Blackmore if he won the play in game.

I don't know who he'd play against in the play in game, but, 2's company, and 3's a crowd. That's what they always told me when I was the 3rd.

Now I know you are a drunkard....That is the Jawja Blown-eyed theme song...Not Hey Bulldawg! A common mistake my brother. And yes that is you buck dancin' Just Damn!

Posted by: Dax Montana at June 17, 2007 3:41 PM

... at least three of my cousins have the exact haircut as the banjo boy.... and they smile a lot..... like, really, a lot....

Posted by: Eric at June 17, 2007 5:32 PM

Hate to burst your bubble but that boy isn't playing the banjo. There was another musican that did the playing and those are his hands, the boy is just there for the "look'.

Posted by: LeeAnn at June 17, 2007 10:00 PM

Kinda like the "hands" in the Duke's of Hazzard show intro LeeAnn?

Posted by: RedNeck at June 18, 2007 1:23 AM

"Does that boy with the unusually blank face have some kind of mental problems?"

Erica, that boy doesn't occupy a normal twig-end on his family tree. He's all clumped up in a knot somewhere closer to the trunk of the tree.

Here's an example of the comments running away with the post...as so often happens here. Which, I guess, is the point.

I am still partial to Aqualung as the best R&R song. The sentimental lyrics ("snot is running down his nose", "eyeing little girls with bad intent") and the sweet guitar riff make it special. Plus, in my ipod it is followed by Ave Maria in alpha order and that's quite a juxtaposition or something like that.

"Here's an example of the comments running away with the post...as so often happens here. Which, I guess, is the point."

Running away from the post? Well, back to the post - there is no best R&R song. There was, back when. It was something heard at a mescaline-enhanced Montrose concert held in a Bowling Green KY tobacco warehouse back in the mid 70's. Sweet Hitchhiker, maybe? Then, there was another best R&R song a few months ago - Cross Canadian Ragweed's Brooklyn Kid. I'd throw Jethro Tull an honorable mention with Farm on the Freeway.

The really sad part of talking about best rock and roll songs is that today's best are found in the alt-country genre.

Yes, that IS you on the dance floor; I recognize the hat!!
