HIATUS INTERRUPTUS

One Abdul Rahman is imprisoned in Afghanistan, under sentence of death for converting to Christianity. Hell's Fucking Bells. Is this what we shed sacred blood for? For a kindler, gentler Taliban, who would execute a man for apostasy while allowing a woman to turn an ankle in public? Bush says he is "deeply troubled". Karzai dithers. Our State Department wrings its hands.

Fucking bullshit. We have several thousand soldiers and Marines in Afghanistan. We should march upon the prison and free Mr. Rahman. Shoot anyone who resists. Then we should take the judge who has sworn to have Mr. Rahman beheaded to the center of that infamous soccer stadium in Kabul and shoot him in the back of his warped fucking head. Then shred the Sharia constitution we allowed these fuckwads to adopt, and force the constitution we gave the Japanese up their miserable asses.

Then shoot a few clerics, to bring home the point. We expect a little tolerance, and gratitude, you mother fuckers.

I'm not as nice as you. I'd take the eye for an eye approach, and flay anyone who doesn't become a christian on the spot. but that's just me.

Tell us how you really feel.

If only there was a bomb smart enough to ask its target a few questions before it blew up.

Og, prayers have been answered. The Afghan court has dismissed the charges against Rahman.

Posted by: Denise at March 26, 2006 9:28 AM

V-Man, please ignore that "Og" thing before. I've been online so much tonight I forgot where I was. The rest of the info is accurate, though. I'll do better from now on.

"...force the constitution we gave the Japanese up their miserable asses."

I'm in total agreement. Except we never got to adjust their attitudes the same way we did with the Japanese ... Hell of an oversight.

hey, every little bit helps, Denise

Posted by: og at March 26, 2006 10:25 AM

Charges may have been dismissed, but how long do you think Rahman will last on the Afghani street, with every two-bit imam and pride-bloated mullah telling their "congregants" to rip him limb from limb on sight? I give him 48 hours, unless he's, like, airlifted to Germany or something.

One way or t'other, he's a Dead Apostate Walkin'.

Posted by: kelley at March 26, 2006 11:34 AM

Put him out in the middle of a big minefield and give him a machine gun and plenty of food and water.

"Come and get me, boys!"

Posted by: Bane at March 26, 2006 1:46 PM

YAY he's back and he's mad as hell!!

Of course the usual political waffling and indecision will occur. I think we've forgotten that if we offend someone now while busting heads, ten years later, the problem will be solved, and those whiners will be whining...about something else. Sensitivity and nuance can suck it.

I wish we could bring back Regan. He'd not stand for this bullshit.

declaring open season on the Mullahs all over Islam would be the quickest way to bringing about a lasting peace. They are the agitators and the teachers who teach the hatred of anything not Islamic. Power hungry bunch of charmin' bastards

I'll never forgive Reagan for running like a little bitch from Lebanon, and leaving those Marines unavenged.

Vman for Pres.

Where is the wisdom in letting countries who have never experienced democracy and submitted to tyranny develop their own constitution. Sure, the US once had to start from scratch, but we also threw off our own oppressors.

I am not against overthrowing tyrants, but what is the point if we are going to let the next worst thing run these countries? I am a Christian myself, but I am totally against Theocracy as a government system. Trying to insert theocractic principles into a democratic system is going to continue to lead them into problems until they realize they have to choose one or the other.

Or we choose for them, an idea I am not totally against. The Japanese don't seem to be doing half bad these days.
