Imagine you are a convict, relegated to life imprisonment on Devil's Island. By day you toil in feverish swamps, dragging stumps and killing rogue crocodiles. Pulling leeches from your body, parasites from your shaved scalp. At night, when you aren't being raped by your Corsican bunkmate, you mop malarial sweat from your fevered brow, and inspect the boils on your abdomen for infection. Your teeth are falling out. There is blood in your urine.
Now you have a pretty good idea how yardwork went at the Velocihovel today. I am ready for fall.
I will send your ass some leaves....

OK... so Im doing my usual checkin and I see Harry Crews glaring at me from your sidebar. Gee... I always figured that you were just another colorful Georgia cracker hiding out in the wilds of Clay County (or as Dr.Drummond loved to call it - River County)... but, but.... Harry Crews?
Last time I fell across that guy was at Beville's Corner in Sumter County at a cockfight. The Southern man's version of Death In the Afternoon, I suppose. It amazed me that a school boy like him could know anything about that ancient and royal sport of chicken fighting... or any of the blood sports for that matter. He arrived on a European racing bicycle with some muscle bound co-ed from one of his classes in tow to provide a worshipful aura to the mayhem. Mostly I remember him holding his own through a pair of jugs of home brew (a Hog County specialty).
Damn, VMan... you may not be full of shit after all. Ever browsed the lillies at Miz Lillian's Music Shop? Figured as much.
Bob
That's why I sold my lawnmower.

Posted by: Velociman at August 14, 2005 6:18 PMAwesome. I'd never heard of him until just now. I just read his bio. Thanks. Made HST look like a punk.
