Night Crossing, by Mort Kunstler. Lee and Stonewall Jackson retreat across the Potomac after the Battle of Sharpsburg. Jack gave me that. It lends some dignity to the squalor it resides amongst.

Funny you should post that. I'm going to see and hear Kunstler speak tomorrow night! He has a new painting--The Hunley--and he's going to be talking about it. This one of yours is a great piece.

Sharpsburg, ah yes at least one of my Great-Grandparents was there. Unscathed at that time, but did suffer the loss of an eyeball at Chancellorsville.
Thank the Lord the Damnedyankees were such bad shots, or I might not exist!
