The Thunderbird Lives

Some of you may recall my post about the Thunderbird Motel in St. Petersburg, and how beautifully it had been restored, and the eclectic fates of the various Thunderbirds. Well, I received this comment today from one David:

I recently purchased the Thunderbird Inn in Savannah. It has a neon sign that will put all others to shame! The property is currently in the middle of a $600,000 renovation/restoration. When it is completed in the Spring of 2005, the Thunderbird will be better than new! All of the original 1964 details are being restored - including the 35' multi-color neon sign. So, when in Savannah, stop by the new "hip hotel" - a flop house no more!

You have no idea how this warms the stints of my heart. I cannot wait to see the restored Thunderbird in Savannah.

And, as an aside, it sounds like a great place for a Jawja Blogmeet. If David doesn't mind heavy spree drinking, insane firearms collections, and half-rubber.

If we hold the next Jawja blogmeet there, your next letter from the Thunderbird will be:

Dear Shitball,

I have contacted the police and my attorney.....

Screw you and your deranged gang of drunken misfits...

Hoping you die soon and painfully,
David

Actually, hoss, that letter is already filed.

Sounds very cool! And we Okies do keep our horses hitched up, providing there is a hitching post.

I drove past the motel on 17 today and it looked the same, where is the new work? Kim, tell Donna to send me her email address, Catfish.

This is the one at the foot of the Talmadge Bridge. Hell, Cat, you just e-mailed her this morning. I figure that address still works.

I started very early this morning on my meds, going to the pain doctor today for refills, I am running very low. Sorry V-man. I picked up a few more pistols this past week for our shoot out, sometime in Jan 2005.

Sounds like a fine place for a drive... AND a Blogmeet. I might have to drag myself up there for that...

Doc, you know you are welcome. We need more Floridians at these things anyway. I spent 35 years in Georgia, was BORN there, and they refuse me the sobriquet Jawja Blogger. They are inbred misfits. But I love them.
