Real Pictures

ConfigSys.boy has the real deal on pictures of the Bush event. Check 'em out. They make mine look like an ant farm documentary.

Those close-ups are from the front row rail in section 118 using a Sony Mavica FD-75. It's ancient in digital camera terms: A 10x Optical zoom, less than 1 MP, and a max of 640x480 on the images. You can actually tell if you check the close-ups in the gallery just how fuzzy the resolution actually is. For 5x7's and thumbnails it fools you well enough most of the time, but on closer inspection it's definitely wanting.

If you're in the market for something new (like me since my 2.0 MP bit the dust earlier this year) the Cybershot P73 is a peach and usually goes for right around $200 at the local Wally World.

Personally I wish I'd had the good sense to walk over to where you were sitting and get a few shots from there. That pic of the President framed by the crowd and the two flags would have been supremo.
