John McCain is running for President in 2008. Against Hillary. Do you not think the media types that anoint McCain as their Beloved NOW won't turn on him like a snake?
Oh, he'll be the Loose Cannon. The Crazy Bastard who got caught up in the Keating Five bullshit and atoned for his sins with McCain-Feingold.
That poor bastard will be destroyed. Vietnam will be brought up for the last time ever, to prove he is, at worst, a ticking time bomb. At best, a Manchurian Candidate. The media that slavered over this man for the last five years will fucking destroy him.
Which is why I voted for W in the first place. Poor John. He plays with lightning.
personally i think everyone should vote for mr. helpful for president in 2008. i think he'd make a fine candidate. he understands your problems. he knows what it's like to be fined for littering. he knows how hard it can be to find a dumpster to sleep on those cold winter nights. plus, as a final cherry on the ole ice cream sundae, if nominated, mr. helpful will name the mutant as his running mate.
my name is mr. helpful and i approved this message.
(paid for by the mr. helpful for president committee...jennifer connelly chairman. the mr. helpful for president committee is in no way connected to the swift boat veterans for truth except it is possible some of the committee members use the same underarm deodorrant as the swifties.
I see two possible explanations for Sen. McCain's behavior.
Either
A. He's been institutionalized for his entire life; was a 3rd-gen Navy brat when a kid, went to PubSkools, USNA included, was a Naval Aviator (serious approval for ya if yer loony-aggressive) and then got to stay in a nasty Commie prison for years- that's the most governmental and institutional of all government institutions- then went to the U.S. Senate, an even loonier, if possible, government institution.
And/Or
B. Those guys in Hanoi slammed his head up against the wall one too many times when they had him under their care.
Posted by: Jusstthisguy at September 22, 2004 5:11 AMThat crap is straight from the GOP talking points. So OF COURSE the media will use it against McCain.
Seriously, don't sweat it. McCain won't be in a position to do anything in '08. I think the GOP will turn on McCain like a pack of rabid dogs as soon as this election is over. They're simmering with resentment at having to suck up to Mr. Popular now.
Of course, that's just my humble opinion . . .
Posted by: kc at September 22, 2004 10:44 PMI don't think Hillary could pull off a Vietnam based campaign. Records acquired recently (not a memo!) seem to indicate that she avoided service for the length of the entire conflict.
