I love RH. Well, most of RH, anyway. The incest stuff always kinda creeped me out, but hey. That was in his later years, anyway.
Posted by: kelley at July 16, 2003 11:19 PMYeah, the incest stuff was weird, and in the last few books he got preachy in a long, drawn out sort of way. But his I still love reading his books. Some of my favorite books are Heinlein novels--The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, Time Enough for Love, Starship Troopers--damn, there's some good reading in there.
Posted by: zombyboy at July 17, 2003 5:24 PMHeinlein is almost solely responsible for my political outlook.
P.J. O'Rourke came along much later, after I had already been corrupted.
Posted by: Kevin Baker at July 17, 2003 11:13 PMI tried hitting the link but it wouldn't load. I hope I can get to it later. Starship Troopers is one of my all time favorite novels. I often think that citizenship should hinge on having served in the military.
